  • Circular engineering.

The circular economy is a production and consumption model that extends the life cycle of products and optimizes the use of raw materials. The generation of a smaller amount of waste means a significant reduction in the environmental impact. Currently, public policies are being carried out to promote the implementation of a circular model.

Several UC3M research groups work on this model, including the Materials Synthesis and Processing group and the Polymers and Composites group, both from the Department of Materials Sciences and Engineering. Along these lines, said Department is working on the launch of the first Master’s Degree in Circular Engineering in Spain.

Professor María Teresa Pérez-Prior and Professor Alberto García-Peñas tell us about the circular economy, its importance and its benefits.
